CFAO opens its largest car dealership in West Africa in Abidjan

CFAO opens its largest car dealership in West Africa in Abidjan...

Distribution specialist CFAO has announced the opening of a new car dealership in Abidjan, the economic capital of Côte d’Ivoire. The ceremony was attended by Richard Bielle, Chairman of the CFAO Management Board, and Marc Ferreol, Chief Executive Officer of CFAO Automotive Equipment & Services in West Africa. The Toyota-exclusive dealership covers 15,000 square metres and stands at the roundabout near Treichville University Hospital, which is a hub for the city's main commercial thoroughfares.

"We are happy with the opening, which reflects the buoyant nature of the country's automotive market and allows us to raise the bar in that market through a range of modern services without precedent in the country," said Marc Ferreol, Chief Executive Officer of CFAO Automotive Equipment & Services in West Africa. "The Abidjan showroom inauguration reflects CFAO's strong ambitions in Côte d’Ivoire, which are already being embodied by the partnership with L’Oréal and the opening of a shopping centre and Carrefour hypermarket in September this year."

The new site is set to be one of the biggest dealerships in West Africa, employing a team of 45 people covering commercial services, technical services, parts distribution, fleet management, general management and administration. It was built to the automaker's specifications, including the use of materials that meet the strictest standards with regard to energy and the environment.

The 6,000 square metres of covered space include a 900 sqm showroom able to accommodate some 15 models and 2,300 sqm of workshops equipped with 22 car lifts. The site also has a 500 sqm warehouse to store spare parts.

"The dealership is aimed at our established customer base, which mainly includes international organisations, administrations and private companies. It is also designed to cater to individual customers, who represent a fast-growing category," says Fabrice Desgardin, Chief Executive Officer of CFAO Motors Côte d'Ivoire.

Following the opening in Abidjan, Richard Bielle and Marc Ferreol will be in Kinshasa on 2 June for the inauguration of a dealership with an offering that includes Toyota, Peugeot and Suzuki.
